We caught up with Jodie in Kemah, Texas on Thanksgiving to chat with her about the production. Jodie has been reviewing music for the soundtrack and gearing up for a few bike rallies that are coming up. The documentary is currently in the final stages of production. Produced by Andy Valadez and Directed by JC Locas, Starring “Jodie”.
Jodie will attend “Mach 3 Annual Toy Drive” at Yankees Tavern in Carlos, Texas this year. She is really excited about attending. Jodie Rides!
Howdy. We have had a little silence on this project. Just wanted to let you know that we are still working on it. We are in post production and should have a new trailer up within weeks. We plan to wrap by 7/31/11. Let’s ride!
We are proud to feature Preston Camp, Jr. Preston is a proud veteran and believer in the American Dream. He is based in Georgia, but has a Texas sound and heart. We appreciate his support for this film.
We just received the first cut of one of his new songs this week “Freedom’s Ride” written just for this movie and about Jodie’s ride to Sturgis. Jodie loved it!
We have teased her about becoming a legend and well . . . she is on her way. Riding the open roads. Let’s ride!
We recently met Billy Blair II (pictured left), Javier Contreras (righ of Billy), and Kenny Younger (far right) at the “Machete” after-party in Austin. Billy plays a bad guy in the movie with many prominent scenes. They heard about “Jodie Goes to Sturgis” and they were happy to submit their song, “Saturday” for consideration for the soundtrack. Take a look at their bio and their band links!
MESSER started writing late July 2009. With only a hand full of shows since then, the Dallas, Texas group has raised the attention of industry and fans alike by the lightning fast rise of popularity, locally and nationally.
Although some bands prefer not to be compared to anyone, MESSER finds that fans of Soundgarden’s candor, Velvet Revolver’s swagger and the grind of Motley Crue’s music are taking notice. Their music can be described as a nod to the 90’s, with their roots firmly planted in the present while still honing their original sound for 2011 and beyond.
Together Billy Blair – Bass/Vocals, Javier Contreras – Guitar/Vocals Dereak – Lead vocals, and Kenn Youngar – Drums, provides somewhat of a local super group assault on the senses.
Messer’s industry buzz is not only from popularity of their former bands and live stage show, but from a cult following of their major motion pictures and reality show castings. This is a band that thinks outside the box and nothing is impossible and everything is attainable if you have the desire.
It’s easy to see from the reaction of the fans coupled with the size of venues they are playing, shows this is no flash in the pan band.
Seasoned, eager, dedicated and hungry to play, their memorable leads, catchy hooks and in your face live show is something not to miss.
We haven’t gone away. Director JC Locas and I have been busy burning tape to digital and reviewing music submitted for the movie and the soundtrack. We had over 30 band submissions and over 100 songs! Stay tuned. Will be posting more updates this week.
Jodie got some really wonderful footage. We can’t wait to share the film with those who have been following. “What does freedom mean to you?”
